The best boats and yachts will be chosen at the Moscow Boat Show

The Russian industry of small shipbuilding is experiencing a historical boom. Dozens of shipyards, hundreds of models and the competition that the car market will envy. The First National Award Boat of the Year 2025 was established aiming to determine the best projects and set quality standards.

The finals of the award and winners awarding ceremony will be held as part of the Moscow Boat Show.

Industry is booming up

Over the past three years, the Russian boat market has made a qualitative leap. Domestic brands not only replaced the departed import giants, but also surpassed them in adapting to the harsh Russian conditions.

The Boat of the Year Award is intended to become the main navigator for the consumer in this variety.

Nominations and participants

The shortlist of the award includes leading manufacturers of aluminum and fiberglass fleets: SEARENE, SWIFT CHASER, ARGO, TRIERA, VICTORY, VBoats, REALSHIPS, Popilov, Nobilis and others.

The competition will unfold in several key categories:

• Sport fishing: technological race boats for PAL tournaments, equipped with top-end electronics.
• Popular fishing: affordable and reliable boats up to 5.5 meters are the most massive segment of the market.
• Cruisers and travels: comfortable boats with family-friendly cabins
• Multi-format: unique projects including pontoon boats, sailing yachts and high-speed trimarans
• Trawlers and Housebots.

A feature of the award is a combined rating system. Unlike standard popularity ratings, the Professional Expert Council has the final say in the Boat of the Year Award.

The jury consists of reputable industry specialists, engineers and professionals in water motor crafts, including the famous yacht blogger Andrei Kazansky.

"We observe a huge excitement in the popular vote, but our task is not to evaluate the work of marketers, but the work of engineers. The winners will be boats that demonstrate the best performance in seaworthiness, safety, ergonomics and build quality. It will be an honest battle of technologies," the Award Organizing Committee comments.
