The MIRAN SK-2 compass works on the principle of receiving signals from global navigation satellites. The device consists of two main elements: a ASK-76 antenna unit, which is mounted on the mast or roof of the wheelhouse, and a DSK-7 indication unit.

The compass receives signals from four systems at once: GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou. The accuracy of determining the speed of the vessel is 0.02 knots. Course fixation time (with HDOP below 4 and visibility of at least 5 satellites) 10x90 sec.
